Music Is Community!

1st Annual EBCMP Family Campout

Note: Registration is now closed for the 1st Annual EBCMP Campout. Direct questions to campout@ebcmp.org.

Friday June 30 – Sunday July 2, 2017
New Woodland Campground, Tilden Park
Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast
If you’re only able to join us for a single night or just during the day, that’s fine, please let us know on the registration page below.

Reserve your spot for a wonderful weekend of music and community in nature. Click the link below to register:

https://www.ebcmp.org/campout-registration/

The weekend will feature music and movement activities in the mornings, afternoon activities to choose from like a ukelele class, an art project, games, a hike, a swim in Lake Anza, and a visit to the Little Farm. In the evenings we will sing around the campfire (with s’mores of course) and hopefully share stories and skits.

Meals will be planned and shopped for by EBCMP campout organizers (vegetarian and gluten-free options provided for those who request them on the registration form); we will ask you to help with meal preparation and cleanup, and to bring one non-perishable snack item and some fruit to share at our communal snack station.

We don’t think the weekend will fill, but register early to secure a space!

Questions? Please email campout [at] ebcmp [dot] org

Special Event: This Wednesday

Dia de Los Muertos Celebration at LeConte Elementary

East Bay Community Music Project is hosting a musical event this Wednesday, November 2nd, to commemorate Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). The gathering is from 6:00pm-7:30pm and will include a community altar, a musical experience and a traditional treat provided by EBCMP. Please eat an early dinner before and do not bring other food to share.  This is an outdoor event (dress warmly) in part of the yard of LeConte Elementary School in Berkeley.  Enter through a gate on the corner of Oregon and Fulton. You may bring items to add to the community altar as offerings to your loved ones like photographs, flowers, decorations, foods or objects that symbolize what they enjoyed in life. You may also bring your instrument to add to the music.
